The festival provides seniors with the opportunity to get involved in their communities and enjoy all the benefits that come from that participation.
This years theme is ‘Lets do more together’.
Around 250 Senior citizens of Gulgong and Grandparents of children from the Gulgong Public School gathered this week for a morning Tea.
The organiser Mrs Carmel Leotta was overwhelmed by the response. “I only put out 140 chairs as I was not expecting this number to attend but I am delighted with so many” Carmel said.
The visitors were served morning tea while being entertained by the children from Kindergarten to year six.
Mr David Lewis Principal welcomed everyone and thanked Mrs Leotta for the time she had put into making the morning such a success.

Special guest for special projects
This week State Member for Calare Mr Troy Grant visited Gulgong to present cheques for various projects.
He first visited Billy Dunn Oval where he presented Deputy Mayor Councillor Paul Cavalier from the Mid-Western Regional Council with a cheque for $240,000 for a new Adventure Playground.
The NSW Government is partnering with Mid –Western Regional Council to deliver this great new project.
It will be purpose-built and will include interactive play equipment, shelters, landscaping, picnic tables, a youth hub with wi-fi and an upgrade to the existing skate park.
This project will benefit local children and young people for decades to come.
His second visit was to the Gulgong CWA Hall where he met with the Gulgong CWA Representatives and presented President Sue Nicholls with a cheque for $13,000 for the repainting of the outside of the CWA Hall.
Sue Nicholls and Secretary Jean Monaghan had sought the funding and were delighted that they had been successful.
While at the CWA Hall Mr Grant also presented a cheque for $2626 to members of the Gulgong Show Society. The funding is for the refurbishment of the animal nursery and a ramp for the safe loading of the animals.
