Many residents from her home town of Mudgee will recall supporting Kimarnie to win the Gap Medics Facebook competition, as well as her fundraising efforts.
She has volunteered three weeks of her time for a medical placement in the Irringa Regional Hospital in Tanzania, Africa, and two weeks at Phitsanulok hospital in Thailand.
Her name has now been placed on the UOW Dean’s Merit list in recognition of being in the top five per cent of the Science, Medical and Health faculty.
She recently sat the Gamsat (Graduate Australian Medical Assessment Test) to commence studying medicine next year.
Kimarnie is currently completing her honours degree, which involves research in a laboratory for Neuroscience.
She is enjoying her studies and her parents Ray and Debbie Baskerville are very proud of her achievements.
