The van has been repurposed from use as Council’s Mobile Library which was upgraded to a new vehicle earlier this year.
Mayor of the Mid-Western Region, Des Kennedy, said the van will provide more opportunities for residents to interact with Council as well as promoting their ‘Live, Work, Invest and Visit’ message throughout the state.
“The van captures your attention immediately, you can’t miss it, it beautifully represents some of the best our region has to offer,” he said.
“This is just another example of how Mid-Western Regional Council is being innovative within our community.”
The van completed its first journey outside of the area last week, attending St George Illawarra Dragons and Canberra Raiders home games in Wollongong and Canberra to promote the region and the May 20 game at Glen Willow Stadium.
“Staff have reported the van was well received with a number of people interested to learn more about our beautiful region,” Cr Kennedy said.
The van is scheduled to travel to further marketing and promotional activities in the Sydney region in coming months.
Locally, the van will be used in the co-ordination of Council events including Flavours of Mudgee and Australia Day as well as attending towns and smaller villages in the region to conduct community engagement and educational activities.
