ATO Scam
Rylstone has been inundated with overseas nuisance calls claiming to be officers of the Australian Tax Office.
The aggressive callers demand late payment of taxes immediately.
People unaware of these scam tactics are being caught.
Talk about these issues with your friends, especially the elderly, so they are not intimidated to hand over money.
Paper Wasp Menace
It has been a good season for paper wasps. They build their obvious nest in trees and eaves.
Paper wasps have a small head, with medium sized eyes and medium length antennae. The body is slender, with a very narrow waist.
There are two pairs of brown-tinted wings, with the first pair larger. The abdomen has some yellow/orange bands, but is mainly black.
Their sting is very uncomfortable and can lead to infection.
Removal of the nests should be left to experienced persons, because when agitated the wasps become very aggressive.
