The Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise first launched the Clock Awards in 2006 and they were held annually until 2010. In 2012, after listening to feedback from businesses, the change to the current biennial event occurred. In 2016, for the first time the Clock Awards were organised in conjunction with the Mudgee Chamber of Commerce and aligned with the NSW Business Chamber awards, increasing their value and providing the opportunity for winners to progress to a higher level of recognition of excellence state-wide.
Voting in the People’s Choice Awards opens on May 1 and closes on May 25. Vote online or collect and return your hard copy nomination form from The Winning Post Motor Inn. Nominations of businesses and individuals will open on May 1 and close on June 22. Promote the success of your business and acknowledge the achievements of your apprentice and/or trainee via the link available at mudgeeclockawards.com.au from May 1.
New categories for 2018 are Outstanding Young Employee (previously Young Gun) and Start Up Superstar. Judges are selected from subject matter experts or practitioners in the area relating to the award category, academics in the field, award category sponsors and NSW Business Chamber representatives and all judges come from outside the region.
Local beneficiaries of the Clock Awards have received in excess of $25,000 since 2006. The beneficiary of this year’s profits is presently being discussed. An Information Evening to answer queries and offer suggestions on submissions will be held May 28 between 5.30pm and 7pm at The Winning Post Motor Inn, Church Street, Mudgee. The Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will be held August 17 at Parklands Resort and Conference Centre. Sponsorship packages are also available. Visit mudgeeclockawards.com.au.
