The event is inclusive of disabled trainers with a bike option available as part of the occasion.
Almost 3,000 people died from suicide in Australia in 2016, making it the nation’s leading cause of death. It’s not only a great cause to raise money for, but something that awareness needs to be generated about.
The Anytime Fitness website describes the event’s main aim.
“Exercise has an immensely positive effect on mental health, it’s something we’re passionate about telling the nation.
We want to raise awareness for suicide prevention and show everyone our welcoming community.
Ready to step up with us and make a difference to the lives of Australians? Book your 15-minute slot at our 24-hour treadmill challenge and together we’ll make a difference.”
Anytime Fitness manager Julie Medved stressed the importance of the cause and thinks everyone should put their hand up to take part.
“I’m really excited about it,” she said.
“We’re looking to get as many people down here as possible to raise awareness for the cause.
“We will have Ken Sutcliffe and Des Kennedy down here on Friday too.”
Sutcliffe and Mid-Western Regional Council Mayor Des Kennedy will be at the gym at 10am on Friday to meet with Julie and spread the word.
Anytime fitness encourages anyone who wants to contribute to take part in the event, you can register at the Anytime Fitness website.
