Mid-Western Regional Council invited members of groups including Rotary, NALAG, Community Transport, Meals on Wheels, and Mudgee Readers Festival, to the Chambers to express their gratitude.
Mayor Des Kennedy said, “on behalf of the community thank you for the fantastic work in your various fields. As you get older you realise just how important volunteers are in the community. And I know you don’t do it for recognition, you do it for a sense of giving back.”
Wear Orange Wednesday dedicates the middle of the week to the State Emergency Service (SES). With the staff of the NRMA, Mudgee Bakery and Cafe, and Big W donning the colour of the organisation. It also an awareness day to let the public know the role of the SES in flood and storm assistance.
Council is updating their community directory and is asking volunteer groups to give their details to Kelly Leonard on 6378 2850.
