A number of LLS specialists will be on hand to talk about management of livestock, feeding options and animal health, while a Rural Financial Counsellor will also be on hand.
It’s not just full-time farmers who are being encouraged to attend the sessions, with the LLS hoping to attract all property owners.
“We encourage landholders to invite their neighbours that don't usually get along to these information sessions, especially any absentee landholders that will benefit from connecting with their community during this challenging drought,” LLS senior land services officer (pastures) Phil Cranney said.
“Most producers have a very good understanding of winter supplementary feeding and these sessions are really about helping fine tune their operations to manage through the drought.
“We aim to help producers make new connections through these meetings that enable them to make profitable decisions that are also environmentally sound.”
Four sessions are being held across the region and while they are free, attendees are requested to RSVP for catering purposes.
