The local theatre group, known for its pantomimes, musicals, and adventurous variety of plays, stages locally-created 10-minute plays every two years. In the past, the evening’s entertainment has included hilarious monologues, thoughtful conversation pieces, and even a musical about coffee.
Organiser Heather Rushton said she has started to receive scripts, and urges prospective playwrights to submit their 10-minute plays before June 8 to have their work considered. A short play is also an ideal way to try acting on the Town Hall Theatre stage, without committing to a full-length play. Ms Rushton said the variety of plays staged meant there was always need for actors to fill different types of roles.
MPAS looks forward to introducing new recruits to the enjoyable process of working and acting together to present a piece of theatre. To find out more and to register as an actor or playwright, visit www.mpas.org.au or find MPAS on Facebook.
