Biggest Morning Tea
Last Thursday over 40 people attended the Biggest Morning Tea held in the Uniting Church Hall, Rylstone.
After a helping of delicious, cakes, slices and savouries and a cuppa, the crowd settled down and listened to Tracey Evans, Integration Coordinator for Rylstone Hospital’s Health One give a talk on the wide range of services and resources available to the public.
Despite the cold outside it was a lovely morning tea, raising $1882 for the Cancer Council.
One in two Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We need to change that, and you can help.
Last year, the biggest morning tea raised an amazing $11.9 million, and in 2018, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is celebrating 25 years, and are hoping to raise more than ever. Every cup of tea served helps Cancer Council to fund research, support services, prevention programs and advocacy.

Fusing Fibre and Nature
Gallery 47 in the Saffron Kitchen and Café, Louee Street, Rylstone hosted Elizabeth McKay’s exhibition last Saturday night.
Elizabeth lives between Bogee and Glen Alice, a picturesque mountain landscape.
Her works include alpaca and other fibres felted together in a mixed media form. The material demands touching and the tactile response is smooth.
Elizabeth uses ornaments from Morocco to enhance her works.
She enjoys the feel of the material she uses, as it, “Almost creates itself”.
