The Gulgong Terriers lead the way in the senior league on 14 points and enjoy a two-point buffer heading into the break created by Coonabarabran (absent from the senior men’s comp).
But the team with a real opportunity this weekend is Dunedoo, who sit second on the ladder (on 12 points) and are about to host Baradine this Saturday.
Prior to the long weekend bye the Swans defeated Cobar 40-22, with Blake Taufa scoring a hat-trick, Dan Lane a brace, and Will Wood and Duncan O’Leary also scoring tries.
Which helped them to a two-point gap to Gilgandra, who have the bye after losing three on the trot.
Dunedoo can consolidate their second spot against the Magpies, who do sit at the bottom of the ladder, however the match is likely going to be closer than their respective positions indicate.
Saturday’s task will be tougher for the Swannettes with the Baradine ladies leading the way in the league tag competition, four points clear of the third placed Dunedoo side.
