Roads between Oberon and Bathurst were closed on Sunday morning, meaning Cowra couldn’t get to Oberon for its blockbuster clash with the Tigers.
It’s understood games in Mudgee, Orange and Bathurst could have been played, but Group 10 is hesitant to find itself in a situation where some games are played and others aren’t.
A similar scenario was addressed in 2015 after Cowra played a Saturday game, but Sunday’s matches were canned due to snow and clubs attempted to reschedule mid-week, but doing so proved a logistical nightmare.
Group 10 chairman Linore Zamparini was in Oberon on Sunday morning and said the “real feel temperature was minus five, there’s snow covering the field and there’s ice underneath that”.
“We won’t be cleared to play here,” he said.
“The signs are flipped on the roads to Bathurst and Abercrombie road too.”
Zamparini said Group 10 will discuss what the best move was in terms of round 10’s games and the competition points attached to those fixtures.
“There’s a couple of options we’ll have to look at, but sharing the points is looking like the likely option at this point,” he said.
