This year the event is primarily focused on getting the community engaged in the festival by hosting a range of activities from Morning Yoga to Harry Potter Trivia to a street library.
General Manager of the Mudgee Readers Festival Portia Lindsey said there is huge importance placed on the idea of community to ensure there is something for everyone.
“The aim of the festival is to be truly for the community,” she said.
For local schools, two best-selling authors will be visiting including Matt Stanson and R.A Spratt who specialise in children's books.
There will be many types of stories to choose from including psychological thrillers, music, medieval magic, historical narratives, environmental tales, satire, flash fiction and award-winning journalism.
Authors include Caroline Overington, Jessie Cole, Ryan O’Neil, Kate Wild, James Colley, and Andrew P Street.
The event started nine years ago and has since gained attention from across the central west and beyond with people from Dubbo, Orange, Sydney and the Blue Mountains travelling to attend the festival.
The program is available now, and Ms Lindsey suggests if you are interested in the festival you need to act soon as tickets are selling quickly.
“Don’t dilly dally!,” she said.
