The clinics, which cost $55, will be taking place at Victoria Park on Wednesday-Thursday (July 11-12) and Wednesday-Thursday (July 18-19).
Hosted by Foundation Football head coach Pablo Pena, the clinic already has 40 kids registered in the four sessions.
Pena has a level 2 football coach (UEFA A license 2015) and a bachelor degree in physical education from Cela University.
He’s held coaching jobs at Navaieno S.A.D (Soria) and GolfCanal.
Founded in Sydney by ex-professional footballer Gus Cerro, the clinics have been taking place throughout Australia for close to ten years.
Cerro is a a veteran of over 300 professional and is a former NSL player with experience playing professionally in Malaysia.
He’s also an M league champion with Pahang FC and won two NSL cups with Melita Eagles.
Cerro is recognised as one of Australia’s most skilful players during his time.
With former participants of the program now playing professional football in Spain and Italy, the Sydney-based, school holiday clinics run for three hours.
Cerro has brought in international coaches such as Pena and says the programs are aimed at developing skills for both football and non-football situations.
“We’re focused on developing kids, not just on the football level but also a social and holistic level as well,” Cerro said.
“We’re trying to teach children about the importance of hard work and having the right attitude.
“The clinic is split into three different parts that’s aimed at making sure the kids get the skills needed to compete on the weekends through individual and group based games.”
