Schools Tree Day
Students in Mudgee and Lue got their hands dirty last week for Schools Tree Day, which is held every year in the lead up to National Tree Day.
They were were joined by Kerry from Bunnings, who supplied the plants, fertiliser pellets, fertiliser solution and sugar cane mulch.
“Kerry talked to students about the importance of planting natives to encourage bees for pollination and helped students as they planted, backfilled, mulched and watered their new plants. The natives have been planted along the fence line of our veggie garden and will encourage bees to the area,” Lue Public School principal, Caron McDonald, said.
