After both teams collected wins at Cowra in round 17, the last piece of the puzzle is a home win over Orange Hawks and finals footy will be on the cards for two of the four Mudgee senior sides.
Starting with the under 18s, Jono George’s group will look to earn its second win over Orange Hawks as the two blues sit second last on the ladder.
Mudgee smoked Hawks 32-4 back in round nine and Wil Hawkins thinks the formula to do it again is pretty simple.
“We just need to roll through the middle, keep our heads and play smart footy,” he said.
“Everyone wants to be on the team and everyone loves playing footy. We all put in 100 percent for out mates every week and we all want to win. We want it bad.”
The Dragons league tag squad is looking to continue its run of hot form against a formidable, second-placed Hawks side.
We just need to keep our heads and play smart.

Mal Goodman’s group relies on an Orange CYMS loss as well as earning victory over Hawks but considering CYMS plays the 14-0 St Pat’s powerhouse, the biggest focus by far will be beating Hawks at Glen Willow.
The side is fresh off a 12-8 win against Cowra that saw the finals flame stay alight for another week.
