Work is expected to be completed by early to mid October.
The existing kitchen is being modified and extended, adding new flooring, benches, sinks, and wall tiles, and relocating the cool room and dry food storage.
The new coffee shop will back onto the kitchen and sit adjacent to the bar, and will serve beverages, lighter meals and ice-cream.
“It’s very exciting that we can add the coffee shop into our core operations to cater for our members,” CEO Maureen Hutchison said.
“The kitchen upgrade is due to increased demand and to bring it into line with today’s food and health standards, which is a must for the venue.
“It’s the members’ club, we’re the custodians.”
During the renovation the bistro will operate out of the Lochiel Lounge – Perry Street end of the venue – and reservations aren’t available.
Mrs Hutchison apologised for any inconvenience in this time.
A shade cloth for the outdoor playground will also be added ahead of summer.
Club donates 18 bales
Club Mudgee donated three trucks of hay and pallet of dog biscuits, to the 200BALES campaign.
The donations – totaling $3600 – were purchased via a combination of club members and staff donations, as well as staff tips, which bought four bales.
Donation boxes and tins at the Club will continue to fundraise for 200BALES.
