“Cassie Liney, the Environment Coordinator from Mid-Western Regional Council contacted us several weeks ago to see if we would like to help and of course we said ‘yes’,” principal Caron McDonald said.
“Holes were dug, seedlings planted and watered and then staked to prevent wind damage with student names written on labels.
“It is important that students take ownership and pride in their local environment and this is one small way we could help them to do this.
We hope that they will visit the area again in a few months time with their families and find the trees they planted.”
