Multiple NSW Rural Fire Service crews (RFS), along with Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters were called to the scene of a home on Ophir Road at Rock Forest on Wednesday afternoon.
“Unfortunately crews were unable to save the home and it was destroyed by the fire,” Eglinton Rural Fire Brigade posted to Facebook.
“Our thoughts are with the homeowners who’ve lost their home this afternoon.
“Thankfully there were no reports of injury.”
At this stage the cause of the blaze is unknown.
The blaze came following a very busy day for NSW RFS crews who responded to dozens of blazes across the state.
Among them was an out-of-control bushfire at Bilpin in the Blue Mountains which ignited on Wednesday afternoon.
Currently, the 95 hectare fire is listed at ‘watch and act’ level with firefighters to remain on scene during the night.
The RFS website states that strong winds predicted into the morning and isolated properties in the area may come under threat.
Bells Line of Road has been reopened following an earlier closure, however, motorists should be cautious with smoke and firefighting operations in the area.
