36ers shot out of the blocks to lead 12-2 at quarter time, which in retrospect, ended up getting them the competition points as they were outplayed for the rest of the match by a resilient Taipans outfit.
The lead still favoured the 6ers at half time 16-7, but they lacked the dominance of the first quarter, Taipans fighting hard to get back into the game.
However, by the final break despite this effort, Taipans still trailed by eleven points and it seemed unlikely they could get close and perhaps snatch at least a draw.
Taipans did outscore 36ers 3-nil in the final quarter, but the gap between the teams at quarter time proved the difference, 36ers hanging on for the win.
Will Daniell 8 and Yijun Noh 6 points for the winning side while Taipans’ Jo Box and Connor Hart scored 7 and 6 respectively.
Kings proved too strong for Wildcats 36-26, although only a point separated the two teams in three of the four quarters.
With Kings leading by only a basket at half time, the third quarter decided the match, Kings outscoring Wildcats 10-2, and although they dropped a point to their opposition in the final period, they held on against aggressive offence from Wildcats to win by ten points.
Blake Dwyer hit 21 points for Kings, Nate Atkinson 10, Toby Forrester 3, James Loynds 2.
For Wildcats, Matt Dayrit 16, Kurt Cunningham 4, Bailey Consadine and Will Hawkins 2 each.
Bullets and Hawks had to call on players to fill in for those that were away, resulting in Bullets winning the match 38-20.
The scores were level at 10 all at the first break, but from that point, Bullets drew away, taking the second quarter 8-4, the third 8-nil and last 12-6.
Will Clark top scored for Bullets with 10 points, Zac Clifford 4, Tom Sutherland 2. For Hawks, George Mills 6, Aurelio Scordo 2
