Council secured $307,500 through the Federal Government’s Bridges Renewal Program to replace the existing one lane timber bridge with a two lane concrete bridge.
The new bridge will be higher than the existing bridge which will reduce the frequency that the road is closed during flood events which result in lengthy detours.
Council says this project will be a significant improvement on safety for road users, in particular the local school bus that delivers school children to and from Gulgong and Mudgee each day.
Works are due to take approximately three to four months weather permitting.
