After success on August 3, raising $2,400 for the 25th Jeans for Genes Day in Mudgee, a new fundraising initiative is up and running.
Win a trip to Disney (or the world) raffle is up for the win, as part of Jeans for Genes Day, orchestrated by the CMRI.
Prizes include:
- First prize: A trip for a family of four to Disneyland or an $8,000 travel voucher from Mudgee Travel and Cruise.
- Second prize: Family fun pack to Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo
- Third prize: Two children’s bikes
Not only are community members encouraged to try their luck in a raffle, but to also save the date for next year’s Christmas in July fundraising event.
Last year’s event raised $75,000 for the CMRI, and there are hopes to see similar results this year.

The event will be held on 27 July, 2019.
One in 20 children worldwide are born with a birth defect or genetic disease, and it has become the mission of CMRI to help advance treatment and prevention for these children so they can live their best life, happily and healthy.
The institute also doubles as the site of world-leading research in areas such as cancer, neurobiology, embryology and gene therapy.
CMRI also pioneered microsurgery, immunisations against lethal childhood illnesses and care for premature babies, all of which has improved the lives of countless Australian children over the last 58 years.
The Mudgee CMRI Committee are dedicated to getting locals involved in the ongoing work of the institute.
Tickets for the raffle are $20 with all funds going towards research by CMRI to find cures and treatments for childhood diseases.
