I’m nervous. Very nervous.
The reason being that we at Mudgee Rotary are now really on a count-down for a major community event that is totally untried and the outcome is completely unknown.

We think it’s all about risk versus reward and we see the reward like a pot of gold for our community.
We are throwing everything at this event to make it a success and you’ll soon see signs all around Mudgee, hear messages on the radio and read more about the event in the press.
On the weekend of October 13 and 14 we are staging the inaugural MUDGEE GARDEN SPECTACULAR with six very special private gardens open to the public at the height of their spring splendour.
This event allows the owners to share the pleasure and the tranquillity of their gardens while raising funds for charitable causes.
To add further interest, we have organised speakers for each garden who can assist, direct and inform you about the particular garden.
The CWA are also coming to the party by offering tea, coffee and their scrumptious home-made country style food at Hillgrove House.
Where is the money going?
As usual, Rotary really believes in putting back into the local community and we are distributing the proceeds to three very worthy charities that don’t seem to get much Government assistance:
- CanAssist (assisting patients affected by cancer);
- RDA (Riding for the Disabled); and
- NALAG (National Association for Loss and Grief).
I can tell you one thing… that everyone involved so far has just been so supportive by giving their time, their services and help free of charge.
I’m talking about Rotary members, CWA members, garden owners, speakers, the press, radio stations and printers.
It’s been a collaborative effort and now we only need two things to happen!
it would be nice if the weather is kind for October 13-14, and we would really love to see everyone come out and support the event.
Come on, be part of it.
