Windeyer rider, Brad Jones, riding his home-bred Anglo-Arabian Shellal Jive, won the prestigious Best Conditioned and Managed Horse award at the Shahzada Marathon at St Albans in August.

Riding 400kms over five days, Jones, 57, completed the challenging course in 53hrs 15mins. Well done. The Shahzada Memorial Endurance Ride is held annually in St Albans NSW during the last full week of August.
The friendly vetting team was on hand during the event heading up by Dr Emily Streckfuss giving a helping hand to the riders and horses to achieve their dreams.
Coming up
Woodstock Annual Endurance weekend on September 15-16. The Lachlan Endurance Riders club welcome all back to the annual event. It features 20kms stand along on Saturday and a 40/80 on Sunday. On September 22-23 there will be the Homewood Memorial Endurance Ride zone 6 together with the Colefax family with 20, 40 and 80km events held just not he Sunday. Endurance in NSW is broken down in "ZONES". Each Zone has a committee who assist clubs in their area to run rides. Each zone also has a representative who will raise any issues/news to the NSW State Management Committee should the need arise.
