The View Club held its monthly meeting and luncheon on the seventh with the theme of Spring, and to celebrate we had a Fashion Parade sponsored by RIPE of Mudgee, with some lovely outfits, and some of the ladies paraded round the room wearing the various sets.
While the ladies were changing their selections Bev Palmer entertained us by reading some poems on of her own and others. The background music was played by Rhonda Brenham.
The lucky door prize on third redraw was D75 won by Betty Price.
The raffle first draw F28 orange was won by Helen Richardson, second draw D15 orange was also won by Helen Richardson and donated back for another draw C05 orange won by Dianne Fairburn and third draw F34 orange was won by Libby Sills.
As usual the decorations and flowers were beautiful, thank you to the ladies who do this every month.
Our achievements to date are two new Learning for Life Students bringing the total to 14 we have sponsored in 2018.
We have also donated to the Smith Family Winter Appeal of $500 and to the Stationery Appeal $300.
We have 120 Financial members and so far we have had 30 Reading Rugs to date made by the members, all of which is very greatly appreciated.
On a very cold and windy and SNOW the Bunnings BBQ day in August was held. View members and other people helped to make it a success.
The Fathers’ Day Wheelbarrow and the BBQ raised $537.60, a great effort.
The Fathers’ Day raffle was won by Danny Bennett of Mudgee.
Our next Bunnings BBQ is booked for the Saturdays of September 15 and November 10.
Tickets are being sold for our major raffle which will be drawn at our Luncheon on the December 7.
We are also holding a Trash and Treasure with white elephant stall and Sausage Sizzle on Saturday, November 3 at the Busy Bee Service Station.
The next meeting will be Pink Up Mudgee, for Breast Care Awareness on the October 5, at the Golf Club.
