91 of Mudgee’s finest young people were fare welled as they left school for the last time at the recent Mudgee High School year 12 Presentation Assembly. A packed school gymnasium gave the students a rousing ovation as they departed after the final roll call.

The ceremony was presided over by 2019 school captains elect - Georgia Christofis and Lachlan Wall, ably assisted by 2019 vice-captains elect – Ethan Reinhard and Keely Croft.
Special guests at the Presentation Assembly included Mr Michael Honeywood, Director of the Mudgee Principals’ Network; Mr Des Kennedy, Mayor, Mid-Western Regional Council; Mrs Lea Leisfield of Mudgee Lions Club; Ms Carolyn Peek, CEO Mudgee Life Skills Plus, Ms Tara Stokes, representing Glencore Mining Group; Mr Peter Orr, representing the Orana Law Society; Mrs Veronica Miller, President of Mudgee High School Parents and Citizens Association; Mrs Louise Windeyer, representing Mudgee Baha’i Community and Mr Joel Wilson, Relieving Principal, Cudgegong Valley Public School.
The occasion was highlighted by the quality of public speaking, with excellent speeches delivered by Lachlan Wall, 2018 School Captain Thomas Loughnan and 2018 Vice –School Captain, Adam O’Connell. In the words of special quest Mr Michael Honeywood, “addresses such as these do much to reinforce our hope in the future of our community with so many exceptional young men and women on display”.
These speeches were augmented by entertaining, yet thought provoking insights from Principal Mr Wayne Eade and Year 12 year Adviser, Mrs Sue Spinner.
Mr Eade also presented 12 Principal’s Gold Medals for outstanding application, scholarship and leadership. These were presented to : Jacob Barnes, Renee Bevege, Bethany Clayton, Jordyn Colley, Olivia Harvey, Dylan Hayes – Weber, Natasha Hill, Natalie Jeffery, Sam McFarlane, Lowanna Paulson, Jasmine Russell and Felicity Smith.
Once again, the school community was well supported by a number of Mudgee businesses who provided several special awards to recognise the students who had outstanding academic, sporting and community achievement throughout the year.

- The University of Newcastle Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement: Thomas Loughnan.
- Glencore Scholarships: Awarded to three year 12 students via an application process to support tertiary study – Jacob Barnes, Renee Bevege, Brayden Webster.

- Peter Clark Shield: Awarded to 2018 Mudgee High School Captains: Lowanna Paulson and Thomas Loughnan
- Service to Mudgee High School Award: Awarded to 2018 Vice School Captains Olive Loughnan and Adam O’Connell
- Lions Club Tertiary Education Scholarship: Kaylie Hannford

- Tim Ferguson Memorial Award for outstanding contribution to the performing arts: Jacob Barnes
