SkillForce360 is “powered by people”, and focuses on placing 360 individuals across the region into education or employment by 31st March, 2019.
After reaching their targets in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for Pledge250, Skillset, although an ambitious goal, said they are confident in their ability to place 110 additional people in training, education or employment by the due date.
“Following the success of Skillset’s previous jobs campaigns Pledge250 in 2016, 2017 and 2018, we are increasing our target by 110 and bringing SkillForce360 to the region to,” Skillset Workforce Senior Manager Jane McWilliam said.
With statistics revealing New South Wales will require a further 50,000 skilled construction workers in the next 12 months alone, coupled with the Australian Government’s identification of a nationwide shortage of skills, it is campaigns like SkillForce360 who will ultimately close this gap.
The campaign will address the ever-growing skills gaps, assist local businesses to grow, generate a higher number of employment opportunities in Regional NSW, foster regional communities to grow and prosper, and educate businesses on the importance of introducing apprentices/trainees/labour hire recruits for a cost effective, long term business approach.
“If businesses are looking for new staff or add new skills to their business, we really encourage them to contact us,” Ms McWilliam said.
“We have the services available to source and match talented candidates for permanent recruitment, labour-hire, and apprentice and trainee services.”
“These people are keen to work and have been supported by Skillset Workforce to identify what is the best career fit for them throughout their skills development journey.”
