Played at the home of Easts Rugby, Woollhara, the Toothy Tens is the major fundraising event for the Nick Tooth foundation raising much needed funds for brain related sports injuries.
Lead by arguably one of Mudgee Wombat’s best players, David Jessiman and spirited prop Angus Wilson, the Galloways intend on building on their solid performance in the recent Mudgee 7s.
To enable this a number of big name former Wallabies and NSW Waratah players have joined the Galloways.
Heading this list includes the names of David Lyons, Paddy Ryan, Dean Mumm, Jeremy Tilse and ex Welsh prop Ben Evans.
The Galloways will be directed by former NSW Waratahs Assistant Coach, Chris Malone, who incidentally hails from the Mudgee region.
Knowing the talent at his disposal, Malone is quite confident of a successful showing in the Galloways first appearance in the Toothy Tens.
Malone offered, “It will be fantastic bringing a group of Mudgee locals and international stars together in aid of such an important charity, but this would not have been possible without our Mudgee based sponsors Yancoal / Moolarben and On Time Engineering.”
The memorial tournament – now in it’s fourth year - is a round robin competition with over 20 teams from around New South Wales vying for the Toothy Ten’s championship.
