Hot weather, but nice in the shade, big crowds and a million smiles.
The menu for 450 diners: caramelised balsamic, infused with rosemary humus, roasted baby carrots and ‘middle eastern’ pesto.
Asparagus, leek and zucchini terrine with hollandaise sauce.
Chicken live pate mousse with spiced onion relish.
House made labneh cheese with olive, pistachio mint and za’atar topping.
BBQ lamb rump with mint salsa, Verdi garden peas, cauli-flower puree, almonds and pea tendrils.
Roast breast of chicken with seasonal herbs and tomato dressing.
Classic baby potato salad with tarragon mayonnaise.
Then passionfruit cream and strawberry mini pavlovas with blackberry syrup. Espresso martini trifles.
At the end the Street Feast Committee presented a $5000 cheque to Rylstone Kandos Rotary for Farmer’s Drought Relief.
Many people worked through the day to keep things running smoothly.
Well done to all Street Feast helpers and specially the committee.
