This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which saw the end of the first World War, 1914-18 extending commemoration further than before.

Mudgee High student, James Pegg stood before his peers to play the Last Post and the Rouse, while a handful of other students stood behind the podium to speak and tell stories in relation to Remembrance Day.
As each student entered the Gymnasium, they were handed a poppy, the flower that blossomed on the battle-fields shorty after the end of WWI, inspiring the now famous poem ‘In Flanders Fields’.
The Mudgee community can participate in the Mudgee RSL Remembrance Day which will be held on Sunday, 11, at the Robertson Park Cenotaph commencing at 10am.
