Aiden Pooley of Lahey Court, Mudgee, was placed on a supervised 12-month Community Corrections Order* for charges of ‘Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner’, ‘Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic)’, ‘Destroy or damage property (domestic)’.
On the evening of Thursday, May 24, 2018, Pooley used the victim’s phone to make a call and became enraged when it stopped working.
An argument followed and as it escalated he punched two glass panes of a door, causing them to smash and fall down on the victim who was pinned in a corner nearby.
Pooley then punched and damaged a plasterboard wall in another room before walking outside and throwing a piece of firewood through a window.
And left the location in a vehicle he didn’t have permission to use.
The police were contacted and found him after he was refused entry to a local hotel.
*A Community Correction Order, as defined by Justice NSW, is to punish offenders for crimes that do not warrant imprisonment or an Intensive Correction Order, but are too serious to be dealt with by a fine or lower level penalty.
The court can select from the range of conditions, such as supervision by Community Corrections Officers, community service work (up to 500 hours) and curfews. And can be imposed for a period of up to three years.
