Mariah Burnicle-Tavita and Zali Yeo have made the netball squad, while Isabella Shearman is part of the Satellite squad, all in the 14 to 16 age group.
Meanwhile, Kandos’ 15-year-old Thomas Large has made the golf squad, after coming in late last year to the program.
WRAS Sports Program Manager Nicole Jones says the opportunity to be apart of these teams are a true benefit to the athletes.
It’s a great opportunity for these athletes in the region to be selected and develop their skills.

“For the girls, it’s a path way to state level netball.”
All four of the young guns were selected based on their skills, behaviour and attitude, and physical characteristics.
Each athlete will have training sessions on a regular basis spread across the region particularly in Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo, with training days every month for Large while training begins with team building for the netball goers.
