If you’ve emailed me in the last month or so, you’d have received an out-of-office email saying that I was on leave.

The holiday was great, by the way.
As anyone that’s taken extended leave before knows, one of the things you get to look forward to is returning to a mountain of unread emails. This detail is important as you’ll see in a minute.
Just as I was packing my bags to leave in October, the Mudgee Guardian was stepping into one of the most important changes in its history, online subscriptions.
In case you missed the memo. You can support the Mudgee Guardian from just $2 a week (with a free trial) which grants you complete access to our website, including news, sport, what’s on and entertainment. Not only that but you receive a digital version of the Mudgee Guardian’s print edition to read on your tablet or phone. You get the best of both worlds. Head to our website for more info.

With that little sell out of the way, I just wanted to take some time here to thank all the people that have already decided to support us with a digital sub.
One of the nicest things I came across while sifting through in excess of 1500 unread emails were the messages our new subscribers had sent us expressing their appreciation for everything we do.
Those subscriptions and those in the future are what enables us to keep bringing you constant and up-to-date coverage of everything that happens in the Mudgee region.
The Mudgee Guardian is, to everyone, something different. To some it’s the Facebook page, or our Instagram account or the paper you pick up on a Tuesday and Friday to read on your lunch break or the website you quickly check on your phone while you’re waiting for a coffee.
But what about those people who don’t really have a connection to the Mudgee Guardian?
We have some very exciting things planned for the near future, things that we hope will bring more people in to the Mudgee Guardian family and give them the news they want in a way that works best for them.
But we can only continue to do this as long as we have our supporters, you.
You, the reader, are the most important piece of the puzzle and we work hard to make content that you find interesting, informative and entertaining and we hope that we can continue doing so.
