Community Health services will now be provided on level two of the main hospital building. The Dental Clinic has moved to a new temporary building on Lewis Street, just behind the current emergency department.
Physiotherapy services will continue to be provided in the Wellness Centre, entry via Meares Street.

The old two-storey Community Health building - which began life as the nurses’ accommodation - will be one of the first to go as the project brings all hospital, community health and dental services under one roof. With the new facility set to located closer to the intersection.
Mudgee Health Services manager, Judy Ford, reminded residents that all current hospital and community health services will continue to operate throughout the redevelopment period.
“We're relocating some services to make way for construction of the new hospital, so we're keen to get the word out to clients, patients and the community,” she said. “We really appreciate the understanding and tolerance of patients and staff during this period of change.
“It’s not easy working in the middle of a construction zone, but our staff have been terrific and are doing everything they can to minimise disruptions for patients,visitors and their colleagues.
“The redevelopment project is on track and early works - site preparations - have progressed well. Tenders have closed for the main construction work and the successful tenderer will be announced before the end of the year. Construction of the main hospital building is scheduled to start in January 2019.”
The State Significant Development SSD application outlines a proposal for the $70.2 million new Mudgee Health Service which will include; an emergency department; a general medical and surgery unit offering a range of surgical procedures; a maternity unit, so mums can continue to have their babies in Mudgee; a range of services for outpatients; a dental clinic; renal dialysis; and oncology.
