But if you haven’t, here’s your ultimate chance.
Ultimate Frisbee first came into action 50 years ago and has been a played in Mudgee for many years, however, a lack of numbers in recent times has seen the game’s presence decline to a degree.
Mudgee Ultimate enthusiast, Ged Azar says the team has struggled to get players back since the original members moved on some years ago but that’s a trend he’s hoping to reverse.
“Ever since then we’ve struggled to get the numbers back,” Azar said.
But it is something different … it’s a bit of fitness and fun, and it’s relaxed, not overly structured.

To play a game of Ultimate, a minimum of 10 people are needed in the warmer months, a fraction less than the ideal number of seven-a-side that makes the magic happen.
“I try and get a game together every now and then when we have enough players to make a game, and if we don’t get at least ten, then we can’t play,” Azar said.
As long as they’re old enough and strong enough to run around, we get them out there until they can’t run around anymore.

Ultimate not only exists in Mudgee, but also across the region with teams in Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange, Blue Mountains, Wagga Wagga, and Temora.
“There’s plenty of country sides but we tend to play a bit here,” Azar said following a friendly game with Dubbo that Mudgee Ultimate recently held.
