Former national and NSW Pitcher, Garry Johnston recently made the move to Mudgee with his wife Sue, bringing along elite softballing contacts.
President of Mudgee Softball Association, Mick Boller says the 16 player team will give an “extraordinary opportunity” to local softballers.
“It will give local softballers a chance to see what elite male players look like when they are training and playing,” Boller said.
It’s an extraordinary opportunity to see the best male softball players in Australia and give some of our locals the chance to improve some of their own softball skills.

“I guess one of the things it that you can’t really understand what elite athleticism is until you see it in action, so it is important to expose yourself to that type of player.”
Professional softball is likely to make a common appearance in Mudgee, with the Johnston clan residing in town.
“We expect some more visits because Garry and Sue have extensive contacts with elite players throughout NSW and Australia, so I am sure they will be able to continue to use their contacts to bring elite players to Mudgee,” Boller said.
The not to be missed opportunity will take place on December 8 and 9, at West End Fields commencing at 1pm on the Saturday.
