The donation follows the selling of specialty designed cooler bags by Coles Community, where each bag purchased donated 25 cents to the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund for sports equipment.
Gulgong Little Athletics treasurer Tom Papworth says the donation comes just in time as old equipment starts to show its age.
“Receiving this grant is massive. Our current mats are old and worn out, so being able to purchase new mats to practice on is really beneficial for our kids,” Papworth said.
We are very grateful that Coles has given us this opportunity to upgrade our equipment as we are a small club with limited fundraising ability.

Coles State General Manager Emma Bridges says the grant is a great opportunity to provide support for Little Athletics, especially in smaller communities.
“The Gulgong Little Athletics Centre told us they would like to receive a grant to buy a high jump mat and we were delighted to help because we know this is an essential part of Little Athletics to support young budding athletes,” Ms Bridges said.
