Outfits are being chosen, shoes polished and with fascinators being created, it can only mean one thing- it’s time for the Mudgee Cup. The Mudgee Race Club has been racing since 1842 and with recent rain around the region, the track is looking perfect for some quality competition. There is an eight race program for the day including the Montrose Stony Creek Country Maiden and Wild Oates Mudgee Cup Day Sprint, with over $270,000 in prize money available, $30,000 minimum for each race. The big one, the Robert Oatley Vineyards Mudgee Cup, has $50,000 in prize money on offer alone.
