He has asked that we not share his real name, so we will call him John.
John is a Western Sydney Wanderers fan, a die-hard. He came to Mudgee in September when the Wanderers went up against the Brisbane Roar at Mudgees Glen Willow stadium.
John made the trip all the way from Sydney for the game, and this is where his story begins.
John was among the crowd of fans who performed whats known as the Poznan celebration, where fans link arms and turn their back to the game at the 80th minute recognising the first game played in western Sydney back in 1880.
John approached a group of women and decided that talking about this fan tradition was the conversation starter he needed.
One of the women in that group caught Johns attention. He says it was basically love at first sight.
John and the woman spoke briefly and at the end of the game she approached him and they spoke again, which is when John knew he was in love.
It wasnt to be however, John and the mystery woman parted ways seemingly without exchanging contact details or full names and now John has been left wondering who the woman was and if hell ever be able to find her again.
This is when John decided to put a classified in the Mudgee Guardian newspaper.
The ad read:
WANDERER SEEKS GIRL
At the A-League match last month a Wanderers fan met a nice girl but then rushed off. He would love to meet her for coffee some time.
John provided an email address (which we will list below) along with a YouTube video link which you can watch below also.
The final part of the ad reads:
All the clues are in the word[s] of my silly version of Perfect a song by Ed Sheeran.
John doesnt want to cause any discomfort and doesnt want the woman if shes reading this to feel pressured to reach out.
Maybe Im just a silly man who saw a beautiful girl and fell for her, when she was just being polite and kind to the Wanderers fan visiting Mudgee, he said.
Anyway, it would be nice to see her again and have a cup of coffee together, get to know her a little.
