Kelly Maree Marchant of Cohen Street, Mudgee, was disqualified for a further six months.
At about 2.55am on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, she was stopped by police in Gladstone Street, Mudgee, in order to conduct a random breath test.
Marchant returned a negative reading for alcohol, however she handed over a Queensland driver’s licence.
When asked if her licence was disqualified in NSW she replied “yeah, I’m pretty sure it is”. A check confirmed that this was for six months from June 6, 2018.
Then at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, police patrolling Gulgong stopped her for an RBT in Fisher Street.
Marchant again returned a negative breath test but produced the Queensland licence once more.
Officers knew she was disqualified in NSW and when they said this to her she said “this is literally the first time I have driven since last time you got me”.
