The match that sought to bring back the spirit of cricket was held last weekend between Windeyer Invitation XI and Orange Invitation XI.
The event drew large crowd numbers, with two streakers baring all in the name of grass roots.
“I think we achieved our goal, it was played in good spirit,” Windeyer side captain and co-organiser of the event, Greg Hundy said.
“I’d like to thank those who supported us.”
Although it took a bit of convincing to get 94-year-old Ray Menchin out to the game, he made the toss, while 90-year-old David Lester bowled one ball.
“They had a great day,” Hundy said.

“It took Ray a bit of convincing but he ended up staying the whole day.”
Top scorers for Windeyer were Timm van der Gugten with 60 runs, with second top scorer Mark Hundy who made 50. However their efforts were not enough to claim the win.
“Windeyer went down gracefully with 185 odd, and Orange went past us with about four or five overs to go,” Greg said.
It is likely to be an annual event.
