Participants from Mudgee, Dubbo, Cowra and Orange, as well as host club Bathurst, are expected to flood the Bathurst pool for the annual Australia Day leg of the region’s premier triathlon series.
Eagerly anticipating Saturday’s round, Bathurst Wallabies Triathlon Club vice-president Luke Patterson revealed entries for 2019 race are expected to be huge.
“Registrations are already coming in, thick and fast,” he said.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw 150 entries for the senior races. It is taking a bit of organising and it’s a good problem to have, but we’re on top of it.”

The race on Saturday will be played under a grand prix format, starting with a 2.5 kilometre run, followed by a 200 metre swim, 16km cycle, 200m swim and finished by another 2.5km run.

After winning the opening two rounds of the series at Cowra and Mudgee, Nick North is expected to again be tough to beat.
