The garden was the initiative of six grade teacher Kathie Deagan and with the funding from several bodies the garden came into fruition.
Mr David Lewis, Principal of the school said “it has been great for the kids as they have the responsibility of tending and watering the plants and then they have the enjoyment of picking the vegetables”.
The garden now has large shade sails which has enabled it to flourish in this harsh hot summer.
There is also synthetic turf being laid between the garden beds to protect the shoes of the children when the ground becomes wet and muddy from all the watering the garden beds get.
“The equipment looks simple enough but it is so good for their fitness and they have a great deal of fun while playing on it.” Mr Lewis said.
