The Henbury Sport and Recreation Club’s interior will get a fresh coat of paint and new carpet thanks to $10,647 in funding.
State member Paul Toole recently visited the site in Kandos to share the good news with the club’s members.
There, he told them that Henbury deserved the support from the NSW Government as the club was the nucleus of the small village community and was used extensively by many residents.
“Henbury is a small, not-for-profit organisation which relies on volunteers who give their time to help with the operation of the club and maintain the golf course and tennis courts as a community asset,” Mr Toole said.
“The course is a real treasure at the entrance to this rare 20th century town as well as providing a facility that residents are proud of.
“A new coat of paint to the interior of the clubhouse and new carpet will give the building a real lift and make it more welcoming for both members and visitors.”
In May last year, Mr Toole also delivered funding of $4118 to Henbury to make improvements to the club with new timers as well as spray and watering equipment for the golf course
