Gulgong RSL Club will receive a host of works in and outside the club thanks to $187,000 in funding.
State member Paul Toole recently visited the site, along with Nationals candidate for Dubbo Dugald Saunders, to share the good news with the club’s members.
Gulgong RSL Club secretary manager Jim Gaudry said the funding would be used for air-conditioning, wiring, lighting, carpet and general maintenance.
During the visit Mr Toole said the club was in need of the works, especially since it would also be used as an evacuation centre if the need arises during a flash flood or major fire.
He explained that the club would be a place where evacuees could gather and be sheltered, fed and generally looked after until they could return to their homes.
