Andrew Wormald (37 points), despite making a mess of one hole, managed to outplay his playing partner in this weeks round of Mudgee Veteran Golf, Gary Broomfield (36 points) who claimed second place ahead of Paul Moore (35 points).
Mike McGarrigle (34 c/b) who played with the first two places held on for the fourth prize.
Ball winners were Barry Hadaway, Greg Llewelyn, Jeff Williamson, Doug Cook, Brian Insull, Peter Doherty, James Anderson and Ann Burgess.
The Soldiers’ Motel NTP Voucher on the 11th hole was won by Barry Hadaway whose tee shot finished only 319cm from the hole.
In an amazing situation, the fourth member of the playing group containing Andrew, Gary and Mike was James who refused to miss out on all the action when he caressed his tee shot on the 17th hole to a mere 49cm which was good enough to win the Eagle’s Nest, earning a massive 24 balls.
It also has to be noted that on the 17th hole, this particular group all hit the green and the furthest shot from the hole was only about 300cm.
