Many hands make light work.
This will be particularly evident this weekend in Mudgee when the show and rodeo kick off arguably the biggest weekend in Mudgee's calendar this year.
It's something many take for granted. The sheer amount of time and effort that has gone into every aspect of every event this weekend is mind-boggling.
From volunteers, council and council workers, emergency services, ride operators, animal judges, artists, technicians, caterer...the list really never ends.
Every one of those people is worthy of praise and appreciation. because it's these people and these groups that allow things to go smoothly when there's suddenly thousands of people from all over in one place.
There is one element though that's particularly important that I haven't mentioned yet, and it's you.
You, the one reading this whether on your phone or at a cafe, the community are the ones that make or break these events.
Talking to Ken Sutcliffe earlier this week, he said that if the Charity Shield isn't a sell out, it should be, and I agree. If people want these events to flourish and continue expanding in Mudgee, it's the support of the community that's essential.
Many throw out the easy complaint that Mudgee doesn't have much to do, but there's no way that argument holds up now; We have the show, the rodeo, the Charity Shield and the Country Championships, not to mention the beloved Church Markets, the Robert Stein Footcrush Feast, Hot Air Ballooning and more.
Even if you attend one of these events or their after parties, you're supporting something worthy, the town you live in. You're supporting the people that work at the businesses, the volunteers at the events and contributing to the larger Mudgee community and the economy.

Of course, the Mudgee Guardian will be at all of these events, taking photos and talking to as many people as we can to get a feel of the vibe in the town.
I would be remiss if I didn't say thanks to our growing audience of online subscribers, you are the ones that allow us to continue covering these major events and all our local coverage, if you aren't yet a subscriber, why not give the free-trial a try?
We are being spoiled with an embarrassment of riches, so let's not waste it.
Get out and support the Mudgee region.
