A woman charged with 'Assault occasioning actual bodily harm' when she lived in the local region, was convicted in her absence and fined $2,200 when the matter was dealt with in Mudgee Local Court last Wednesday.

Sunshine Roker, aged 44, formerly of Botobolar, submitted a written plea of guilty to the domestic charge.
At about 11am on Thursday, February 7, 2019, the victim drove Roker to a Mudgee pub to buy cannabis.
When he picked her up again she was angry and claimed that a person she spoke to said she couldn't buy the drug "because it's a mining town".
I'm quite perplexed at the suggestion that she can't buy marijuana here because it's a mining town.

The pair argued when they returned home, the victim wouldn't drive Roker to another pub to attempt to buy cannabis and she said the plant they had was too young to smoke.
She began punching him, before picking up the doorstop - a 15cm tall, concrete bust of Adolf Hitler - and hitting him in the face with it. This caused a 2cm cut below the victim's eye that bled heavily.
Upon reading the facts submitted to the court Magistrate David Day commented, "I'm quite perplexed at the suggestion that she can't buy marijuana here because it's a mining town".
