Alexys, Andrew and Ronan
Alexys, Andrew and Ronan Butler all made the trip from Bathurst.
They weren’t able to make the game in Mudgee last year due to work, but they made that wouldn’t happen a second time.
Their favourite players are Greg Inglis and Sam Burgess, but Ronan just loves them all.
“I like all of the rabbitohs players,” Ronan said.
Tim, Peter and Joel
The first group off the mark were fans Peter Mead, Tim Mead and Joel Anderson.
The three revealed they’ve been impressed with what Mudgee has to offer so far. They’ve even found a ‘new favourite pub’ in the Lawson.
Of Glen Willow Stadium, Joel said it wasn’t what he expected.
“It’s a lot bigger than I thought it would be,” Joel said.
Their predictions put the Dragons ahead - 24-16 and 28-24.
Debbie
Mudgee’s Debbie Sleeman said she felt like she almost couldn’t handle the anticipation.
“I’m pretty excited and nervous,” Debbie said.
“It’s great you get to see them [the players] in the flesh,”
“There’s a lot of people traveling the long distance, it’s quite an amazing thing.”
Debbie reckons Souths will win, 20-18.
Graham, Ethan and Simon
From as far away as Lake Macquarie, Graham, Ethan and Simon came not just for the football.
“I love it, the wine and footy,” they said.
“It’s such a great ground, it’s beautiful. It’s the best field I’ve ever been to.”
And their favourite players?
“All of them.” They said their favourite are ‘the ones we get to see in the flesh.’
Michael, Trish, Russ, Michael and Margaret
Trish is behind the bunnies all the way.
“Rabbitohs to win, I don’t know the score, I just know they’re going to win,” Trish said.
Margaret however thinks differently.
“I think it’s going to be a Dragons night.” Margaret said.
