Mudgee's home-grown High Valley Cheese Co has been awarded gold and several bronze medals by the Royal Agricultural Society for its Mudgee-made cheeses.
Owner of High Valley Cheese Co, Grosvenor Francis said he was thrilled with the result and shows that their hard work pays off.
“We are thrilled to have received a gold [award] for our very popular Marinated Pesto Fetta and a bronze each for our Caerphilly, Brie and Stefan Blue," he said.
“We have been making our cheese now for 14 years and we have been lucky enough to win number of awards that have acknowledged nearly all of our varieties at one time or another,"

“We know Mudgee locals, visitors, chefs and passionate foodies keep buying our cheese and saying they love it, but when the official judges of the Royal Agricultural Society give you the thumbs up and a gold medal ahead of many other cheeses, it takes the acknowledgement of what you do to the next level."
Not to be forgotten, a new face has joined High Valley recently and is already making waves.
“Our son-in-law Shaun Barry has joined the business and is responsible for making the batches of cheese that went in for judging, so we are pretty chuffed that he too has been acknowledged in this way” Grosvenor said.
High Valley said via a press release that they source their milk locally and manufacture everything sustainably.
High Valley’s small sustainable cheese making facility has been punching way above its weight (and size) to deliver the highest quality produce, made from local ingredients.
We obtain the milk for cheesemaking from The Little Big Dairy in Dubbo; use local olive and canola oils in the Fetta marinade and run the daytime needs of the factory on solar, as well as using biodegradable packaging.
High Valley Cheese Co, is located on the outskirts of Mudgee on the Ulan Road.
